What is Genoa notable and what can I see in this city?

It is a very ancient city, with the first human settlements dating back to the third century BC. In the Middle Ages, this city was the capital of the great Genoese Empire, which spread its influence over the whole basin. The city is located on the Mediterranean Sea, as well as on the Black Sea. Therefore, as far as historical sights are concerned, there are plenty of them! ..Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale), Palazzi dei Rolli (numerous palaces of the local medieval nobility on Via Garibaldi) ..Ancient churches, cathedrals, and other architectural monuments.

• Maritime Museum - Galata del Mare plus the galleon Neptune, a sailing ship specially built for the filming of Roman Polanski's The Pirates.
• The aquarium, or oceanarium, is the largest in Europe after a recent renovation. It is located on the territory of the old harbor, which is also an attraction in itself.
